Position Summary:
This position will require travel within Western Canada, approximately 75% of the time with a mixture of overnight and day trips. The candidate would ideally be located in Edmonton or Grande Prairie.
Reporting to the Manager, Tank Rentals & Sales, the Account Manager - Tank Rental & Sales is responsible for the customer portfolio including researching potential growth areas and increasing market share as well as maintaining existing customer base. This position can play a major role in increasing client portfolio and contribute to company growth.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for executing the profitability related to the sale of Tanks and expanding the quantity of rentals.
- Responsible for maintaining existing customer contacts and negotiating pricing in the commercial market segment.
- Work with the Manager, Tank Division to develop innovative and practical tank solutions for existing and new customers that will grow Bar W’s share of the tank sales and rental market share.
- Manage and follow process guidelines for the Tank Program.
- Be SME on all aspects of Tank solutions by continuous knowledge development on equipment and regulations.
- Manage 3rd party relationships (non-tank vendors) that support the Tank Division offering.
- Perform detailed analysis of market segments, customer feedback, competitor activity to determine industry trends and customer needs.
- Attend trade shows and association meetings as required to obtain market information and network.
- Sales calls both in person and over the phone including cold calls
- Processing of all documentation related to tank rental and sales including contract management
- Provide excellent client relations and contribute to a safe environment for all our customers
Qualifications required for the position:
- Post-secondary education in Business with 7+ years’ relevant experience in downstream petroleum and/or construction.
- Excellent telephone, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience in IFS would be an asset.
- Requires a high level of understanding of the petroleum market and business.
- Above average organizational and time management skills.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid Class 5 license required.
- Ability to travel up to 80%.
Is a safety sensitive position due to the nature of material handled and is required to operate equipment or a vehicle to carry out job duties. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
