Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Creative and Content, the Content & Copywriter's primary responsibilities of this role involve creating persuasive and compelling copy to drive sales, conversion and customer engagement. The Copywriter/Marketing Content Writer will collaborate closely with the marketing team, designers, and other stakeholders to develop effective copy across various digital and traditional marketing channels. Additionally, they will be responsible for writing compelling content for emails, social media platforms, websites and other marketing channels. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of writing with a purpose that aligns with the brand, delivering measurable results.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Develop persuasive, compelling and conversion driven copy for marketing materials including websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social media content, ads and other promotional material maintaining consistency in messaging and brand voice.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging headlines, taglines and CTA’s that capture attention and drive clicks and conversions.
- Craft compelling storytelling narratives and brand messages that evoke emotion, build trust, and strengthen our brand position.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team, designers and other stakeholders to ensure the development of impactful copy across multiple marketing channels including digital and traditional.
- Understand the target audiences to produce content that resonates with customers and generates desired outcomes.
- Develop an understanding of the brand's unique value proposition, differentiators, and industry trends to effectively communicate key messages.
- Adapt writing style and tone to suit different marketing channels and target demographics, ensuring brand consistency and relevance.
- Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitors, and target audience to gain insights and create content that stands out.
- Proofread and edit copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Optimize copy for search engine optimization (SEO) by incorporating relevant keywords and best practices to enhance search engine rankings.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in copywriting, digital marketing, and content creation.
- Provide creative input and actively participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of copy and content, leveraging data-driven insights to make improvements and achieve better results.
- Provide support to the Social Media Specialist with tactics and recommendations to enhance our social media presence and engagement.
Qualifications required for the position:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, in marketing or mass communications or or equivalent industry experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in copywriting and a content marketing role.
- Excellent understanding of consumer psychology and the ability to craft persuasive narratives that drive action
- Portfolio showcasing successful copywriting campaigns and examples of conversion focused copy across various marketing channels.
- Solid knowledge of digital marketing principles, SEO best practices and how copy impacts search engine rankings
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail, for grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in both long copy as well as editorial
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and driven optimization strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple project simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience in agriculture or petroleum would be an asset.
