Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, HR Business Partners, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support to manage HR records, ensure compliance with HR policies and practices, and assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives. The HR Coordinator will work closely with HR team members to ensure the coordination of human resource services and processes to UFA business units that are both within the Calgary Support Office and at UFA’s field locations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support system administration within the HRIS, including position management, employee record management, report creation, analysis and auditing to ensure timely and accurate employee data for new hires and job changes.
  • Responsible for the creation of accurate employment-related documentation and execution of processes through the employee lifecycle including offer and job changes letters and coordinating pre-employment certifications such as substance abuse prevention testing, fit for work testing, criminal background checks, etc.
  • Collect and review all new hire paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timely submission, including direct candidate consultation and support.
  • Lead survey administration including employee onboarding, exit, and engagement surveys.
  • Provide support to Talent Acquisition team including screening resumes, completing phone interviews, and reference checks.
  • Provide event planning, coordination and logistical support for HR programs and team events. Provide support on projects and act as a general resource.
  • Update training and resource documents for content accuracy and design alignment with defined branding standards.
  • Assist with grant applications by entering data for applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
  • Provide HR support to HRBPs, benefits, payroll and compensation teams in completing annual work cycles, as needed.
  • Review data and prepare general reports as needed.
  • Support the development of policies and SOP’s.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably with a focus in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, preferably in human resources
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office and HRIS, with experience in SAP SuccessFactors an asset.
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Able to segment priorities accordingly and driven to produce high quality results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated.
  • A positive attitude with a desire for success.
  • Ability to work in and maintain confidentially is critical.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
