Job Summary:
This role is accountable for developing and executing data‑driven marketing strategies that increase customer acquisition, retention, engagement, and lifetime value. With a strong focus on attracting new and growing value from the existing customer base, the Manager will lead the design and execution of marketing campaigns that drive measurable growth initiatives grounded in insights, segmentation, and customer‑centric marketing practices.
The position provides strategic market insight and supports the development of UFA’s overall marketing strategy (B2B and B2C) aligned to category, segment, and business unit goals (Sales, Margin, EBITDA). The Manager, Marketing is responsible for executing these strategies by leading a high‑performing marketing team and working closely with business units and cross‑functional partners.
This role works closely with senior leadership across Petroleum, Commercial AgriBusiness, Retail Operations, Sales, Product Marketing, Digital Experience, Analytics, and Communications to ensure integrated, insight‑led marketing programs that strengthen the UFA brand, deepen customer relationships, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy, Brand & Integrated Planning
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive, integrated marketing and brand strategies across all customer segments, channels, and business units.
- Reinforce our brand through planning, executing, and promoting strategic, high-impact events including tradeshows, grand openings and local events where applicable.
- Ensure the UFA brand is consistently enhanced, promoted, and protected across all marketing programs and touchpoints.
- Translate enterprise and business unit objectives into actionable, measurable marketing plans.
- Continuously evaluate marketing effectiveness and optimize plans to improve relevance, performance, and profitability.
Customer Base Strategy & Growth
- Develop and lead end‑to‑end lower‑funnel marketing strategies, including targeted acquisition, personalized engagement, retention initiatives, and cross‑sell opportunities.
- Build and maintain customer lifecycle roadmaps, ensuring all phases of engagement contribute to long‑term customer value (CLTV).
- Identify, test, and scale growth opportunities using analytics, segmentation, and insights in partnership with Product Marketing, Product Strategy, and Analytics teams.
- Optimize the value generation and loyalty of targeted customer segments through data‑driven, customer‑centric strategies.
Campaign Execution, Optimization & Test‑and‑Learn
- Oversee campaign readiness, QA, execution, and delivery across all relevant channels and tactics.
- Lead a strong test‑and‑learn culture through structured experimentation, A/B testing, and continuous optimization.
- Partner with internal teams and agency partners to ensure campaigns are executed on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Continuously optimize program performance using data, insights, and statistical models.
Insights, Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Consolidate, interpret, and report campaign and lifecycle performance metrics for executive and stakeholder audiences.
- Leverage customer insights, demand signals, churn patterns, and program ROI to inform strategy, investment decisions, and optimization.
- Ensure marketing effectiveness is clearly measured and communicated.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
- Collaborate closely with the broader Marketing team (Digital Experience, Creative), as well as Internal Communications, External Affairs, Community Impact, Sales, Product Marketing, Product Strategy, Customer Support and Analytics.
- Ensure messaging, audiences, timing, and intent are aligned across all in‑market activity and customer touchpoints.
- Design effective communication and collaboration processes to maintain stakeholder commitment and alignment.
Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing, integrated marketing team.
- Provide autonomy, support, and growth opportunities while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative, cross‑functional mindset and a “we win together” culture.
- Take an active leadership role in performance management and talent development.
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage the overall marketing budget, ensuring plans are delivered on target, on time, and on budget.
- Ensure UFA marketing resources and processes are deployed efficiently and effectively to maximize impact and ROI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Communications, or related field.
- 8+ years in marketing, customer lifecycle management, sales enablement, communication, or related fields. 5+ years in Leadership Role leading high performance teams.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing lifecycle or sales engagement programs.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a data‑rich environment.
- Prior experience working in the agriculture industry an asset but not required.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills to translate insights into action.
- Dedicated attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple programs at once.
- Strong change management skills with an ability to clearly and effectively guide cross functional teams through simple and complex changes.
- Ability to pivot and manage through fast paced and potentially unexpected change.
