Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Lubricants & Product Strategy, the Petroleum Supply Specialist plays an integral role in the execution of the procurement strategy which includes vendor management, input for pricing strategy and sales, and agent support for petroleum packaged products.

 

The Supply Specialist will also lead the successful implementation of all vendor supply contracts and play a key support role in the negotiation of contracts. This position will also be responsible for responding to field queries within the lubricant portfolio.  The incumbent must actively work with all stakeholder groups to ensure smooth management of the petroleum packaged goods (PPG) portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for development and implementation of PPG pricing options and communication supporting Director’s margin expectations
  • Develop and own all aspects of required pricing lists to support sales activity while developing new floor price reports
  • Work in tandem with Supply Chain procurement team to ensure smooth procurement of PPG portfolio which includes all promotions, portfolio additions and rationalizations
  • Lead all communication efforts with field with regard to pricing and portfolio
  • Lead implementation of marketing promotions and ensure alignment across all stakeholders including Master Data, Procurement, and Inventory Management
  • Support Director in all aspects of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) to maintain and grow profitability of PPG portfolio
  • Work hand in hand with Field Sales Teams to ensure all portfolio additions are managed across all fulfilment options such as vendor drop ship and agent supplied
  • Lead all engagement with sales and vendor to offer recommendations on new portfolio items to support petroleum growth aspirations
  • Manage aged and discontinued inventory and mitigation recommendation strategies
  • Participate in cross functional corporate projects and initiatives as required such as CRM improvement and yearly patronage
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure all required training and information is provided to UFA and aligned with petroleum technical lead requirements
  • Responsible for the creation of all new Petroleum Packaged Good and Lubricants
  • Support yearly Lubes Patronage validation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree, Bachelor of Commerce is preferred
  • 5-7 years’ relevant experience
  • Procurement and PLM experience is an asset
  • Exposure to petroleum lubricants industry is an asset
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills, demonstrated ability to influence without authority, and work well with others
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
