Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Product Strategy, the Product Strategy Analyst will work closely with Product Strategy Managers to investigate market and competitive trends, analyze retail performance, identify opportunities and risks, and assist in providing information to support the Product Strategy Manager’s data-driven assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.

 

This role combines market research, competitor intelligence, retail performance analysis, product and category optimization insights, pricing support, space productivity, and business reporting to help shape the product strategy across the retail network.

 

The ideal candidate is curious about retail and agriculture products, detail‑oriented, commercially minded, comfortable working with numbers, and passionate about using data to influence strategy in a fast‑paced retail environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive industry, competitor, seasonality and market trend research, leverage external data sources, and apply these insights to enhance product strategy and drive informed business decisions.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across product categories and retail performance
  • Support Product Strategy Managers by gathering and analyzing data for product assortment, pricing, promotional and retail strategy initiatives
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical models to track key business and product performance metrics
  • Translate and present analytical findings into clear, concise insights for cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Support strategic decision‑making through ad hoc analysis, scenario modeling, and performance deep dives
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all analyses and reporting
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve analytical processes, tools, and reporting efficiency
  • Develop an understanding of vendor relationships, product costs, pricing, promotions, inventory, and supplier performance

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Information Management; or 3+ years of experience in an analytical role, ideally within retail, merchandising, procurement, category support, business analysis, or a consumer‑focused environment
  • Retail, agricultural, livestock, or related industry experience is an asset.
  • Strong interest in retail, products, customers, competitors, and commercial business decisions.
  • Research skills with the ability to gather information from multiple sources and determine what is relevant to the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful business insights
  • Comfortable working with sales, inventory, pricing, and other business information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Copilot applications
  • Experience working with large datasets and building dashboards/analytical models to support business decisions
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accurate and timely work.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present analysis and recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while also building effective relationships and seeking guidance to collaborate effectively within a cross‑functional team
  • Ability to travel as necessary to fulfill business requirements
