Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT PMO, the Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing out of assigned projects and initiatives, ensuring consistency with company policies and practices. The Sr. Project Manager leads the project team and interacts with clients and other stakeholders to manage projects based on defined scope, cost, and execution commitments. The Sr. Project Manager position will be assigned projects that are strategic and highly technical with significant organizational complexity and with overall costs exceeding $2 M.
Responsibilities:
- Establish clarity of project purpose and obligations by defining project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Undertake planning activities that will guide the project by developing a detailed schedule and a comprehensive project management plan that outlines project strategies and tactics.
- Build an effective team by acquiring, coordinating, and supporting project resources. Gain and sustain stakeholder engagement, understanding, and buy-in. Establish the roles and responsibilities of the team and internal and external stakeholders. Set up communication methods so that needed information is efficiently shared to all affected stakeholders and the team and organization can effectively support the project. Produce Status reports defining project progress against baseline, financial results, key issues and risks, and key decisions.
- Execute the project by coordinating people and resources, managing stakeholder expectations, and integrating and performing the activities of the project in accordance with the project management plan. Manage to scope, cost, quality and schedule constraints by monitoring and controlling product and project deliverables and modifying the plan as necessary. Efforts include tracking, reviewing, reporting, and acting to manage progress and performance.
- Manage project changes, issues, risks and decisions. Identify issues and document solution options, facilitate issue resolution, and escalate issues to the appropriate stakeholders. Record key decisions. Identify risks and risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately involved in project decisions.
- Follow the Project Delivery Framework. Create and update all project deliverables on a timely basis. Contribute to continuous improvement of the Project Delivery Framework and deliverable documents.
- Work closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of the overall project.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent diploma. PMP designation.
- More than 10 years’ experience leading projects; 3 years leading large and highly complex technical projects such as mobile applications, e-Commerce, S4 / HANA, SAP ECC and other Enterprise Applications projects.
- Skilled experience in risk, issue, decision, and change management.
- Highly proficient with project management software, tools, and techniques including agile delivery.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
