Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, the Sr. Manager, Inventory Optimization leads strategic efforts to enhance in-stock performance and inventory productivity for the organization through the planning, procurement, replenishment, and special-order functions for the supply chain team. This role is instrumental in maintaining optimal inventory service levels of UFA’s packaged goods across the network of retail farm stores and petroleum sites while ensuring cost-effective, high-performance supply chain operations that align with business objectives. By leveraging data-driven insights and advanced planning tools, the Senior Manager drives continuous improvement in supply chain processes, ultimately enhancing agility and profitability across the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute inventory management business processes and metrics that optimize supply chain performance and meet evolving business needs.
  • Provide visionary leadership to apply financial analysis to the planning, procurement, replenishment, and special-order functions, fostering a culture that contributes to the organization's profitable sales growth targets through continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Implement best-in-class inventory productivity practices, leveraging analytics and technology to improve predictive demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory optimization.
  • Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of inventory management and procurement processes with the organization's objectives, through efficiency in inventory planning, load-in, and product movement that supports seasonal and/or marketing campaigns, and strategic redeployment.
  • Partnering with the crop strategy to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment of sales orders.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics, including inventory levels, in-stock positions, fill rates, vendor performance scorecards, and budget utilization to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Acting as the organization’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) leader, providing best-in-class insights to inventory management and optimization for the cooperative’s return on inventory investments, along with its supply chain business, processes, and system configurations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, logistics, or another related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in retail inventory management, supply chain, and procurement
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience, with a focus on inventory management innovation and improving team performance levels.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Strong analytical skill set, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to drive business impact through operational efficiencies.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, effective in stakeholder engagement at all levels.
