Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Contractor Services Farm & Ranch Structures, the Supervisor, Project Controls is responsible for overseeing the project logistics and contractor performance for UFA structures projects. This position will function as a direct contact with customers for the purpose of ensuring that all quality, budget, and schedule expectations are explained and achieved.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Final review of project requirements, materials, budget, and schedule, with the Building Sales team.
- Manage contractors, subtrades – schedules, purchase orders, quality control, payment requests.
- Supervise project specific functions and performance KPI’s of the in-house estimating team.
- Manage engineering and permit inspections.
- Manage project kick-off progress and final project inspections.
- Be the key contact for customer warranty issues – evaluation & resolution.
- Supervise Project Controls team’s day to day activities based on project objectives and customer needs.
- This role may be involved in and influence the pricing for internal & external change orders with the authority to direct building material requisitions.
- Responsible to read, understand, and comply with UFA's Health, Safety, Environment Policies, Safe Work Practices, and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Qualifications required for the job:
- 5 years of construction management or project controller experience is required. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management experience required.
- Minimum high school diploma required. College diploma in buildings related field an asset.
- Ability to read construction/installation drawings required.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite required, including Microsoft Projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- SAP or other ERP Project Systems experience an asset.
- A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to travel throughout Alberta (50%-80% of time as per business needs.
This is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
