Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Planning, the Supply Chain Planner will play a key role in optimizing supply chain operations. This position is responsible for forecasting demand and supply needs, analyzing sales trends, and managing inventory budgets. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Product Strategy, Finance, Operations, and internal Supply Chain stakeholders to develop accurate demand forecasts and enhance supply chain efficiency. Their efforts will help maximize customer service levels while achieving financial targets. Additionally, the Supply Chain Planner will contribute to process and system improvements, working closely with internal business partners to drive operational excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze historical sales data and market trends to forecast customer demand
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy to validate forecast accuracy and develop an inventory plan that supports promotional and seasonal readiness, enhancing the customer experience while meeting sales, margin, and operational expenditure targets.
  • Develop supplier strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities to provide customers with competitive pricing and reliable product availability.
  • Work closely with Product Strategy and Supply Chain Analysts to coordinate seamless product launches and exit strategies, ensuring smooth transitions for customers.
  • Monitor market conditions and adjust inventory plans to minimize supply chain disruptions, reducing impact on customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously assess procurement options to optimize inventory management and maintain product availability, meeting inventory targets while improving customer service levels.
  • Manage space capacity effectively to enhance inventory accessibility and minimize customer wait times.
  • Partner with Product Strategy to evaluate and improve vendor performance, prioritizing quality and reliability for the end customer.
  • Prepare and present reports on demand planning metrics, providing strategic insights that support customer-focused decision-making.
  • Identify potential risks related to demand fluctuations and develop proactive mitigation strategies to safeguard customer supply needs.
  • Support strategic planning by evaluating financial and resource constraints to balance business objectives with customer expectations.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required, always considering customer impact.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in agriculture, business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supply Chain Management or similar professional designation (CIPS, SCMP) is considered an asset.  
  • A minimum of 7 years’ demand planning or supply chain experience.
  • Exceptional analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative, team-based relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong aptitude for collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with experience in materials management, demand forecasting software, and data analysis tools.
