UFA is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team!
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is a people-loving, puzzle-solving, opportunity-spotting professional who helps us identify, attract, and hire exceptional talent. As a strategic partner to the business, you'll build trusted relationships with leaders, provide insight into talent market trends, and develop recruitment strategies that support both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce objectives. This is an opportunity to influence hiring decisions, drive talent attraction initiatives, and make a measurable impact across the organization.

This position is located in Calgary at UFA's Westmount Campus and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with hiring leaders to understand workforce needs, business priorities, and future talent requirements, supporting both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce planning initiatives.
- Act as a trusted talent advisor by providing market intelligence, talent insights, and recruitment recommendations that support informed hiring decisions.
- Consult with leaders on sourcing strategies, talent availability, candidate assessment, and market trends to improve hiring outcomes and recruitment effectiveness.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for a diverse portfolio of corporate, operational, skilled trades, retail, and leadership positions across the organization.
- Source, engage, and attract top talent through multiple channels.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience from first conversation to offer.
- Support inclusive hiring practices that promote equitable candidate experiences and hiring outcomes.
- Support employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
- Leverage recruiting technologies, sourcing tools, and data-driven insights to enhance hiring outcomes and candidate experiences.
- Track recruiting metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay curious about market trends and bring fresh ideas to the team.
Qualifications:
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, with experience in corporate recruitment considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment across multiple business areas and position types.
- Experience sourcing passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruitment platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence hiring decisions through strong consultation and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of recruitment best practices, labor market trends, and talent attraction strategies.
- Understanding of employment legislation and equitable hiring practices.
- Experience working with Applicant Tracking and recruitment technologies, with a preference for experience using SuccessFactors.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- A knack for spotting talent and matching people to opportunities.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
