Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Sales and Service, the Sales Manager, Crop Inputs - Northern Alberta is accountable for the management of an outbound sales team and their disciplined execution of sales processes used in the implementation of a targeted customer plan. This Manager will be responsible to achieve the annual set goal for sales growth, Gross Margin, ROIC, and EBITDA in the target area. In full collaboration with the Area Managers country operations and Business Development Teams, the Manager of Sales and Service will manage the sales team (Assistant Sales Managers, Team Leads, and Customer Account Managers) and processes to achieve the expected business growth in their set sales region.
This is a field-based position that can be located anywhere in Northern Alberta or the Peace Region.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the processes for the implementation of a customer-based business plan in the sales region. This includes developing and implementing an annual customer plan, sales forecasting and tracking, price stewardship and customer service and tactics for the crops and Structures business segments.
- Work with the sales team to utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to improve business relationships and grow the business
- Align and support the implementation of strategies and tactics from the? and Country Operations Teams with the sales team.
- Develop and utilize strong relationships with key stakeholders that impact the business and the effectiveness of the sales team. This includes management from key suppliers, industry influencers and within UFA.
- Accountable to lead the implementation of the customer plan and to provide a seamless customer service experience to the targeted farm / ranch customers.
- Accountable to achieve the set business objectives in the sales region, including Sales Growth Target for the Area and Gross Margin Target for the Area.
- Lead the implementation of the Customer Plan for the area. In collaboration with Country Operations Team (Area Managers and Store Managers) the Manager of Sales and Service will be responsible for achieving EBITDA Target for the Area and Inventory Target for the Area.
Qualifications:
- Degree in agriculture, business or commerce preferred or a combination of education and experience, with a strong knowledge of agriculture is critical.
- Minimum 10 years proven experience selling products, services and solutions to agricultural producers in Western Canada.
- Previous sales management experience is required.
- Experience within a results-oriented Business to Business (B2B) environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude and capability for growing revenues and market share in the agricultural industry.
- Proven sales management and relationship building skills.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Strong people management and communications skills.
