This role demands a strong, strategic leader who can deliver exceptional customer service, drive operational efficiency, uphold safety standards, and optimize sales performance, while fostering a high-performing, customer-centric team. In addition to site-level leadership, Sr. Store Manager will play a key role in advancing strategic regional initiatives and influencing the best practices across their peer group to support UFA’s overall business success. The ideal candidate will foster continuous improvement and lead a team committed to service, growth, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a strong safety culture by supporting UFA’s safety targets through training, coaching, and continuous improvement. Ensure staff are certified to operate equipment safely, monitor facility readiness, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations including drug and alcohol screening. Facilitate regular safety meetings to foster workplace well-being.
  • Lead a customer-focused team to deliver exceptional service, manage customer relationships, and ensure timely delivery of products and services. Maintain merchandising standards, reinforce service expectations, and support team development through ongoing product training.
  • Ensure operational excellence by collaborating with internal teams, maintaining inventory accuracy, and completing company certifications and procedures efficiently. Oversee store routines including cash handling, and ensure facilities and assets are functional through proactive maintenance and coordination.
  • Manage all aspects of the store to support sustainable financial growth. Exceed sales and revenue targets by leading high-volume operations, motivating staff, and ensuring effective execution of sales leads. Drive business growth through planning, budgeting, and optimizing eCommerce operations.
  • Build and lead a high-performance team through coaching, goal setting, and collaboration. Maintain daily presence to support staff, manage scheduling and payroll, and oversee recruitment and onboarding aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to strategic regional initiatives by positioning your store as a top-performing location, mentoring other store leaders, managing key projects, developing talent pipelines, and supporting organizational growth and change.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in retail management, demonstrating excellence in sales, service, operations, financial acumen, and people leadership.
  • Post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field; Agriculture or AgriBusiness background preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams through strategic goal setting, coaching, performance management, and change leadership.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong business acumen with current market awareness and a track record of driving profitability through metrics and accountability.
  • Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—with the ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in business reporting, retail systems, and inventory management.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and effective planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with senior leaders.
  • Positive community presence and relationship-building capability.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 25 kg; valid driver’s license required.
  • Travel may be required.

This is a safety sensitive position as it will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
