Position Summary:

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Yard Coordinator provides direction and oversees execution of the daily functions to the Yard Shipper/Receivers as directed by the Store Manager. This includes providing service excellence to our member/customers as well as making sure the materials handling equipment is maintained. The position provides coaching and training to the Yard Serivce Reps which includes: onboarding and forklift training certification. This role will also act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when required.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Ensure excellent service is provided to all members/customers.
  • Support the completion of shipping/receiving of all inventories.
  • Ensure equipment is properly operated, serviced and maintained.
  • Ensure yard/warehouse/exterior locations are clean, neat and well organized.
  • Provide training and coaching to Yard Shipper/Receivers.
  • Support the completion of cycle counts of all yard items, as directed by the Store manager and as per asset management count schedule.
  • Assisting the Health Environment and Safety Committee by being a strong safety advocate.
  • Working with the Store Manager and team to help create a safe working environment by making safety suggestions.
  • Responsible for maintaining AWSA standards for the chemical warehouse.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications required for the position:

  • Grade 12 diploma with 3 - 5 years of related experience or equivalent may be 5 - 8 years related experience without grade 12 diploma.
  • Previous shipping & receiving and Warehouse/Yard and forklift experience required.
  • Capable of physical labour; capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Previous leadership experience an asset.
  • Basic computer proficiency required as may be cross trained on POS system. Previous cash handling experience an asset.
  • Must remain current with any and all required certifications, including WHMIS and TDG.
  • Background in Agriculture and building supplies an asset.

 

Is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
