Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Sales & Service, the Customer Account Manager 3 (CAM3) is responsible for selling the AgriBusiness product and service offerings to larger and complex customers within a geographical area with the goal of growing product margin. The CAM3 is a seasoned sales representative that applies their broad knowledge of the industry and product lines to assist their customers in meeting business objectives. The CAM3 expertly manages the large customer list working to anticipate needs, provide solutions, and expertly capitalizes on cross selling and upselling opportunities. The CAM3 will act as mentor to junior/intermediate CAMs and be recognized as knowledgeable in UFA and the agricultural industry. 

 

This is a field based position that will be located in the Two Hills/Lamont region.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Achieve Sales Targets as defined in the annual performance objectives from selling the AgriBusiness product and service offerings (as defined in the UFA Sales Incentive Plan) to a set customer group within an assigned territory.
  • Lead, foster, develop, and model strong relationships with core customers targeted, by understanding their business and operation needs based upon an approach of targeting customers with whom UFA can profitably do business. This requires the use of CRM, including an updated customer and farm profile with the key contact information.
  • Pro-actively seek to become involved in the business decision-making process of targeted customers - help these customers make business decisions.
  • Provide timely service, business options, agronomic information, and advice to current and potential customers. Arrange for access to specialists where necessary to bring mutual benefit to the customer and the organization.
  • Generate and transfer qualified sale leads from interacting with target customers. 
  • Promote UFA by participating in community and UFA store related events as directed by their manager.
  • Support administrative and operations staff from time to time to ensure that their farm store provides superior customer service.

 

Qualifications required for the position:

  • College/University diploma or degree in Agriculture or a relevant business field.
  • Must hold and maintain Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation or Professional Agriculture designation.
  • Seven or more years’ experience in AgriBusiness and/or other related customer service function. Previous sales experience in crop and livestock production is a requirement.
  • Excellent telephone, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CRM.
  • Requires a high level of understanding of the agriculture market and business.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Above average leadership and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid Class 5 license required.

 

Is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
